About Engage

Engage Dance Academy, formerly Summers Academy of Dance, is owned and
operated by the husband and wife team, Courtney & Marc Petrocci. Courtney &; Marc met
while dancing professionally together at Milwaukee Ballet. During their 10+ year careers at
Milwaukee, they both taught at the esteemed Milwaukee Ballet Academy year-round, inspiring
their deep love of teaching and training young dancers. The combination of their professional
careers and teaching inspired them to make the leap of faith and purchase Summers Academy back
in 2019. Since the purchase, Engage has won Best Studio for Dance Instruction in the Best of

the Fox Readers Choice award each year.

Engage is a school of dance the Petrocci’s are proud to own; a school whose program design is
based on inclusivity, dance is for everyone! With three different divisions, Engage is truly a
unique school of dance that offers dance for the recreational dancer age 18 months-adult, a
competitive dancer looking to compete and a dancer looking to really push themselves in dance

with hopes of a future in dance either at University or professionally.

After only owning Engage for two years and coming out of the Covid pandemic, the student
demand for Engage had outgrown the current facility, and the Petrocci’s added a new fourth
studio. A 1400 sq. ft state-of-the-art dance studio space with an industry-leading Harlequin sprung
floor. With four studios, Engage is able to run multiple classes at once, starting with a Baby Ballet
at 9 am on weekdays & weekends through their most advanced students ending at 9:30 pm
seven days a week. Engage is a studio that offers dance class times that fit different family

schedules making us a studio for everyone.

Engage dancers continue to be in top placements at regional competitions through our Crew
teams. Our dancers place in the top 12 at YAGP and ADC IBC international competitions and go on
to top Universities and top dance schools across the country, including San Francisco Ballet, and

Milwaukee Ballet.

Engage is proud to be the current dance company in residence of the Raue Center for the Arts
theatre located in downtown Crystal Lake. This partnership allows our dancers to always
perform on a professional stage, helping our dancers learn the importance of live theatre as
well as the opportunity to perform in a professional space with full lights, a stage, and an

an audience of up to 750 members strong for each performance.

The inspiring, hardworking staff of Engage, both behind the front desk and inside the studios, allows
Engage to offer consistent classes that challenge, inspire and create incredible dancers.
