Engage Competition Crew

Our Comp Crew program allows dancers ages 7-18 to work with professional caliber choreographers to develop and compete in dances in various genres, including ballet, hip hop, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, and lyrical styles. Comp Crews compete at various competitions and conventions in the Chicagoland area, as well as a national competition.

Award-Winning Teams

Some of the goals for this program include developing a strong sense of unity, camaraderie, and competitive spirit as a team while providing technical development and mentorship on an individual level, helping each team member grow to become the best dancer/competitor they can be.

By joining Comp Crew, each student commits to a year-round program that starts in June with our summer intensive and culminates in our all-studio recital. Auditions take place in late spring each year. The summer schedule includes choreography, technique, leaps & turns, and rotational classes featuring jazz, ballet, and other styles.

In the fall, dancers continue their training with group-specific choreography classes and additional technique classes. Each Crew member has the opportunity to participate in multiple competing pieces and the potential for solos, duets, and trios.

Interested in auditioning? Dancers can prepare for auditions with a variety of studio-offered classes. A ballet technique class and a Contemporary, Lyrical, or Extreme Jazz & Hip Hop class are recommended. Information meetings will be held each spring to answer questions and allow parents and dancers a chance to get more information on what it means to be a Crew dancer!
